20th Anniversary

Greenbelt Auto & Truck Repair Inc. celebrates their 20th year anniversary from Sept 1984 to present.

We like to share a bit of the history which we created. Mr. Joe Aulisio & Mr. William Novick, some know him as "Duce” or Bill, were both employees at the MOBIL station back in 1970‘s during our high school years. Not having a clue about business, we worked for Woody and George enjoying our teen years. We often wondered and said, “what would it be like to own this one day??”

And we eventually got the opportunity to so.

The years went by and we went our separate ways. William Novick was employed at

AAMCO transmission and became Master Builder. Joe Aulisio was employed by Prince Georges County Fleet Maintence, later to be employed by the City of Greenbelt Public Works.

The business was sold for the first time, in the early 1980’s. Approximately 2 years after the initial sale the business was sold again to a business banker who knew little of the automotive business. Business was not where the investor wanted or needed it to be.

Mr. Novick orchestrated a deal to lease what turned into GREENBELT AUTO & TRUCK REPAIR Inc. We reunited and agreed to lease terms and on, September 6, 1984 Labor Day we Incorporated.

We started with one employee and continued to move forward. In 1986, the second owner, having health problems, decided that he could not deal with the rigorous regiment of a service station, (full service back in those days) and decided to sell the business!

We knew that if some one else bought the Mobil station we both ran the risk of eviction. It was a NO-BRAINER! GREENBELT SERVICE CENTER was born again!

Bill Novick, with the help of his wife Beth, now a schoolteacher at the Old North End school in Greenbelt, took over the helm and built that sector into viable business, making it a nice place to look at in the process! Because of the influx of cars and the rigors of the Service Stations as well as the advancing technology needs it was necessary for Bill to devote most of his skills to Mobil and Joe to the Greenbelt Auto & Truck.

We have now officially become the most lasting owners of this location since the days of Woody, a legacy in the history of Greenbelt.
